Theatre de magie bangle bracelet

Theatre de magie bangle bracelet

And come, oh daughter of too many journeys,
gray in your hair, lead in your heart,
sore-footed and stumbling, to the sea,
where we will weep together; stone, salt and water
until your sorrow erodes into sand.

There is an ocean hidden in your veins,
a coyote in your mind, an oak in your belly,
a sparrow in the hollow of your throat.
Bring them here, to the ragged edge of the continent,
to your home, and set them free.
-C.S. MacCath

made of: 24k, vitreous enamel, iron oxide transfer
finish: The copper has a natural brown patina.
measurements: This detailed bangle measures 1 and 1/8th inches wide and has an interior diameter of 2.75 inches. I would call this a size large.
process: The process for making this bracelet is labor-intensive. After fabricating the bangle form, the enameling process then involved laying layers of finely-ground glass onto the copper forms and firing them multiple times at very high temperatures in a kiln. Lots of protective gear involved at every step. Then I painstakingly gather, cut and arrange tiny fragments of text and imagery from many different eras in history and fuse them into the enamel along with 24k gold to tell the stories we may have forgotten.
