made of: 24k, vitreous enamel, iron oxide transfer
finish: The copper has a natural brown patina.
measurements: This detailed bangle measures 1 and 1/8th inches wide and has an interior diameter of 2 and 5/8ths inches. I would call this a size medium .
process: The process for making this bracelet is labor-intensive. After I fabricated the bangle form, the enameling process then involved laying layers of finely-ground glass onto the copper forms and firing them multiple times at very high temperatures in a kiln. Lots of protective gear involved at every step. Then I painstakingly gather, cut and arrange tiny fragments of text and imagery from many different eras in history and fuse them into the enamel along with 24k gold to tell the stories we may have forgotten.
